Coffee House Discussions: Food, Housing, and the Digital Divide During the COVID Crisis

On Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 pm, the Coalition on Race invites the SOMA community to our first virtual Coffee House Discussion using Zoom. The topic is Resource Inequities During COVID19. We will focus on housing, food insecurity, and the 'digital divide' in our local community. While these inequities have existed for decades, their impact is now amplified by the pandemic shutdown.

Panelists include Dean Dafis, of the Department of Community Affairs; Kate Cahill, of the Food Pantry at Our Lady of Sorrows; and Dr. Ronald Taylor, Superintendent of the SOMSD. They will share information and updates on state housing issues, local food pantries, and remote learning issues. Following those overviews, participants will be divided into virtual, moderated, small groups to discuss what they have heard and to develop individual and community actions. At the end of our time together, we will reconvene and each group will share their suggestions to all and submit questions to the moderator. Space is limited and a password is required to participate.  We hope you will join us! Register here today to receive your assignment. Registration closes on May 18th
