Coming to Jersey: Black Families Share Their Stories’ is a collaboration with Durand-Hedden House. SOMA residents Mikki Murphy, Leeroy Moyo, Nettie Thomas, and Luis Estrella will share their stories about how their families came to New Jersey and how they came to live in SOMA. The project will incorporate background on The Great Migration, oral storytelling with photos, and conversation with those gathered. Storytellers begin at 1:00 pm in The Woodland Parlor, 60 Woodland Road, Maplewood followed by a reception at 3:00 pm Reception at Durand-Hedden House. To attend the event RSVP here.
