The Civic Engagement committee is hosting a Community Engagement Schools Showcase on Thursday November 7th at The Woodland in Maplewood, and on Saturday, November 23rd at the South Orange Library. Our objective is to inform and to inspire SOMA residents, especially those from groups that are frequently underrepresented as volunteers, to get actively involved with improving our local schools. 

We have invited six to eight organizations who work towards racial equity in our local schools to send a representative to share what they do, to clarify how community members can help and to answer any questions about their organization.
