Dancing Together: Integrated Art Circles

This spring's Dance Circles brought people together to learn dance steps and techniques in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The Dance Circles are part of our Integrated Art Circles. These programs, funded in part by a yearly grant from the NJ State Council on the Arts through the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historical Affairs, support creative, sustainable communities by using the arts to bring together people of different races and cultural backgrounds and to build authentic relationships across racial boundaries. Below are pictures from R&B Line Dancing with Zanetta Robinson-Sargent and Greek Traditional Dance with Sheryl O”Connell. Coming up on June 14th at our Juneteenth Celebration, join us for West African Traditional Dance with Yahaya Kamate, a West African dancer and drummer who performed with National Ballet of Côte d’Ivoire.
