The Deconstructing Racism workshop series ran for 8 weeks throughout the first half of 2023. Gathering a group of SOMA and nearby learners, the virtual sessions focused on issues like structural racism, unconscious bias, anti-racism, white privilege, and the hard work it takes to address these issues in one's personal life and in the world of work, education, and politics. Each week the attendees gathered to hear a well-researched presentation and to spend time with one another in virtual break-out discussion sessions. They discussed their personal experiences of racism and shared ideas for disrupting racism. We are grateful to the all the attendees who were so willing to put in the time to do this hard work.
