Dr. Hettie Williams and the Critical Roles of Black Women in NJ Civil Rights

In collaboration the Durand-Hedden House and the Community Coalition on Race, Dr. Williams gave this informative talk for Black History Month on the history of the early Black freedom struggle in New Jersey. She made a powerful argument that the Civil Rights Movement began in New Jersey, and that Black women were central actors in this struggle. Watch the video below!
