The work of the Community Coalition on Race is in part to make it possible for people of different races to live together in integrated neighborhoods and to have equitable access to all community opportunities. Recently, the Residential Committee launched the Wealth Gap Equalizer Loan to support historically disadvantaged homebuyers in their effort to make SOMA their home—and reached the goal of making 3 loans in 2022! For the first time since COVID, we were able to bring together individuals from neighborhoods across SOMA to learn from each other and address real issues each neighborhood is facing. Plus, through Conversations on Race, we helped the community develop clarity on critical race theory so we can work effectively toward inclusive curricula that benefit all students. We know you believe in the work of the Community Coalition on Race. Together, we can we deepen our understanding of what it means to be anti-racist and to build communities of true inclusion. Your financial support makes that outcome even more possible.
Our 2022 demographics study shows that SOMA continues to be one of a handful of suburbs in the state of NJ to remain integrated over time. This commitment to integration requires continued monitoring, work, and attention. As this year closes out, we are asking for your financial support so that we can raise the funds we need to continue this intentional racial integration work.
Help us continue to serve and to follow new pathways to racial equity and inclusion by making a donation of $100, $250, $500 or more today.
We are humbled each day to see the ways our community supports this work and engages in it with us.
On behalf of the Coalition on Race board of trustees, we thank you for your consideration.
In gratitude and community,
