Are you passionate about racial equity, inclusion, and building a truly integrated community? The South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race is seeking new members to join our Board of Trustees. This is a meaningful opportunity to give back by working with a diverse group of neighbors to advance racial integration and equity in every facet of community life.

As a trustee, you’ll help shape initiatives that support integrated neighborhoods, equitable schools, and community-wide conversations on race. Our programs include signature events like the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration & Volunteer Fair, Conversations on Race, Talking to Children about Race, and many more. You’ll also contribute to important areas such as demographic research, affirmative marketing, and neighborhood engagement.

We are looking for individuals who are committed to our mission and willing to share their time and talents. Trustees also participate in monthly “issues discussions” focused on current challenges and opportunities related to integration.
